Zloty Tur is comming (by Igor Mazurenko - organizer)

The most important event organized in Poland is coming. When I was organizing Zloty Tur Cup tournament (Gdynia, Tornado Club – 20th of February 2000) I did not susspected that the event would achieve such a rank. Yet during the first competition only 40 contestants took part and only 4 of them (as the international team) were from Ukraine. Then the tournament was won by Hrygory Bondaruk (Ukraine) who could not repeat his success from 2000 next year. Because in 2001 there were competitors representing teams from 9 countries and the winner of the statue of Zloty Tur was the multiple European and World Champion - Jan Germanus from Slovakia.

Till today a lot of competitors of the large caliber took part in the annual Zloty Tur Cup. At the tournaments fans of the armwrestling saw the famous competitor - Alexey Voevoda from Russian in the direct rivalry for the first time. In 2001 Alexey did not managed to win Zloty Tur but his dream was already to win the statue and to defeat the legendary John Brzenek from USA in few next years.

His dream came true. He managed to win the main statue next year – 20002. He did not give away the title of the strongest for next two years (2003 and 2004). Year 2004 was crucial as well for the competitors as for the organizers of the tournament. That year Alexey Voevoda winning Open category with Johna Brzenka fulfilled the second part of his dream. Admittedly, John Brzenk lost the statue In 2004, but he has been a regular guest of the tournament since that moment. As the world’s legend of the armwrestling, the American proved his preponderance in right hand tree times until now (in 2006, 2007 and 2008). Year 2004 is also the organizational changes. Due to the decision of PAL (Professional Armwrestling League) the tournament of Zloty Tur Cup was expanded by the World Professionals Cup since that moment. The competitors apart from the main statue may also contend for the title of the best world’s professional. The same year, Nemiroff joined us as the financial partner that regards the tournament as the strategic point of its marketing activity in Poland. There no point in being surprised as Zloty Tur Cup - Nemiroff World Cup is on the spot of most of the fans of this (but not only) discipline. For the 5th time contestants from all over the world are coming to Poland to defeat the legendary John Brzenka. Last year the favorite was Denis Cyplenkov from Russia who wanted to attach the medal of Open category of right hand into his collection. Unfortunately during the decisive duel weighting 92kg John Brzenk won with the mighty Russian (the starting weigh – 135kg). For American competitor it was the third victory at this prestige tournament. Will he win the title of the stronges of right hand for the 4th time in November 2009? It will appeared on 6th and 7th of November. I would like to remind that these days in Hilton Hotel in Warsow near the OLYMPIC Sunrise Casino we are going to be witnesses of the rivalry of the best competitors of the world in the 10th jubilee tournament of Zloty Tur Cup - Nemiroff World Cup 2009.

Since 2007 World Professionals Cup is also carried out for left hand. The representative of Ukraine - Andrey Pushkar turned to be the strongest left hand that year. Next year – 2008 undefeated was Denis Cyplenkov from Russia. And who is going to be the winner of the prestige open category of left hand? It will turn out soon.

Zloty Tur Cup is the only tournament in the world that increases the amount of the financial prozze each year. Let’s remind that in 2000 at the first Zloty Tur Cup the whole amount of the prizes was 1000$ whereas today in is 22 0000$!
