ZLOTY TUR WITH TRADITION

Since the organization of the first edition of Zloty Tur cup in 2000 the organizers of the tournaments have not suspected that within 10 years the tournaments will host the greatest stars of world Armwrestling. On the other hand we should not be surprised as annual Zloty Tur Cup gained confidence of sponsors, media and contestants from the very beginning. RUSTAM BABAYEV - 1ST ZLOTY TUR

Talking about the Zloty Tur Cup I have reminded of my first time at the tournament in 2001. It appeared that it was not the first but the second Zloty Tur Cup. As a young contestant from Ukraine I came to Poland for the first time thanks to my trainer - Vlodomir Petrenko. He took us – the four people from Harakov. I was the youngest in the team. Although I was the brown medalist of European Championships I have not started in any of international tournaments yet. Igor Mazurenko – the organizer of the tournament invited me and my friends to the competition. I saw the table with the laser pint indication the center for the first time then. During the first Zloty Tur Cup in 2001 I fought a lot of great duels. One of the most extraordinary ones was the winning duel with Hrygori Bondaruk. HRYGORY BONDARUK – THE FIRST WINNER OF ZLOTY TUR

“I have no idea when these 10 years passed, but they did passed” – said the Ukrainian competitor, the winner of the main cup at first Zloty Cup Tur tournament, Hrygory Bondaruk in the telephone conversation. “I remember as in autumn 1999 Igor Mazurenko came to me, to Ukraine to take the first lessons at armwrestling. I weighted then only 73kg whereas Igor 140kg. I saw him and got frightened… huge hands I have never seen in my life turned to be unable to do anything to me during the direct fight at the table. But Igor was tough and determined and did not give up. I saw as he was fighting with pain. Then I realized that he would be a great armwrestler. He got interested in the sport and phoned me every week and in the same year 1999 he organized the first duel between our competitors and competitors from Poland in Gdynia. „In 1999 I won my most precious trophy at 10th Zloty Niedzwiedz in Moscow. ZLOTY TUR IS COMMING (BY IGOR MAZURENKO - ORGANIZER)

The most important event organized in Poland is coming. When I was organizing Zloty Tur Cup tournament (Gdynia, Tornado Club – 20th of February 2000) I did not susspected that the event would achieve such a rank. Yet during the first competition only 40 contestants took part and only 4 of them (as the international team) were from Ukraine. Then the tournament was won by Hrygory Bondaruk (Ukraine) who could not repeat his success from 2000 next year. Because in 2001 there were competitors representing teams from 9 countries and the winner of the statue of Zloty Tur was the multiple European and World Champion - Jan Germanus from Slovakia. Till today a lot of competitors of the large caliber took part in the annual Zloty Tur Cup. At the tournaments fans of the armwrestling saw the famous competitor - Alexey Voevoda from Russian in the direct rivalry for the first time. Od momentu organizacji pierwszej edycji turnieju „Złoty Tur Cup” w roku 2000 Organizatorzy zmagań nawet nie przypuszczali, że w ciągu 10 lat turniej ten odwiedzą największe gwiazdy światowego Armwrestlingu. ASSEN HADJITODOROV ABOUT WORLD CUP

Dear Friends You see, that ten years were passed unnoticeably, from the 1st issue of “Zloty Tur” in year 2000. Thanks to the great efforts of my friend and colleague Igor Mazurenko, the competition was transformed into the most considerable Armwrestling event (after the European Championships) in Europe. “Zloty Tur” was the event, from that was started the glorious career of many competitors, as Rustam Babaev & Ruslan Babaev, Viktoria Ilyushina, Ion Oncescu, Alexey Voevoda and many others. During all these years, “Zloty Tur” was stamped in my consciousness many unforgettable duels, as the win of Tsvetan Gashevski (75 kg) over Alexey Voevoda (100 kg); as the unprecedented classifying of Ion Oncescu on 3rd place in absolute category by his Armwrestling-competition debut; as the repeatable wins of the live-legend John Brzenk and many, many other beautiful duels. RUSTAM BABAYEV – MÓJ PIERWSZY ZŁOTY TUR

Mówiąc o Złotym Turze Cup przypominam sobie, że po raz pierwszy trafiłem na ten turniej w roku 2001. Jak się okazało, nie był to pierwszy, ale drugi z kolei Złoty Tur Cup. Ja, jako młody zawodnik z Ukrainy wtedy po raz pierwszy przyjechałem do Polski dzięki mojemu trenerowi – Vlodomirovi Petrenko. To on zebrał nas razem – ogółem cztery osoby z Harkova. W tej ekipie byłem najmłodszy. Chociaż byłem brązowym medalistą Mistrzostw Europy na ten czas ani razu nie startowałem na turniejach międzynarodowych. Igor Mazurenko – organizator turnieju z chęcią zaprosił mnie i innych kolegów na ten turniej. Wtedy, po raz pierwszy zobaczyłem stół z dodatkowym punktem laserowym wskazujący center. Na pierwszym turnieju Złoty Tur Cup w roku 2001 stoczyłem wiele wspaniałych pojedynków. Ale jednym z najwspanialszych był zwycięski pojedynek z Hrygorim Bondarukiem. HRYGORY BONDARUK PIERWSZY ZDOBYWCA ZŁOTEGO TURA

„Nawet nie wiem kiedy, ale już minęło 10 lat” – powiedział w rozmowie telefonicznej ukraiński zawodnik, zdobywca głównego pucharu na pierwszym turnieju „Złoty Tur Cup” – Hrygory Bondaruk. „Pamiętam jak dziś, jesienią 1999 roku do mnie na Ukrainę przyjechał Igor Mazurenko zaczerpnąć pierwszych lekcji siłowania na ręce. Ja ważyłem wtedy zaledwie 73 kg. Igor natomiast prawie 140 kg. Zobaczyłem go i się przestraszyłem … ogromne ręce, których w swoim życiu jeszcze nigdy nie widziałem, jak się okazało niestety nic nie mogły mi zrobić w bezpośredniej walce przy stole. Ale Igor był twardy, zawzięty i nie dawał za wygraną. Widziałem, jak marszczy się z bólu. Wiedziałem już wtedy jednak, że z niego będzie niezły armwrestler.
